Polyvance’s 6450 Bumper Bag Plus is a versatile tool that works in many different areas of the body shop. Use it to take small dents out of plastic bumpers and sheet metal, adjust the fit of adjoining sheet metal panels, and even use it to cushion a jack saddle to eliminate the risk of damage to the subframe.
The Bumper Bag Plus is made from 70,000 pound tensile strength webbing and is practically indestructible. However, it is also soft enough to conform to the shape of whatever it is pressing up against. This allows it to take the energy of the force and prevent further damage to the area.
Our video "How to Use the 6450 Bumper Bag Plus" demonstrates how to use the Bumper Bag Plus in different areas of the shop.
This product was invented by David Kilburn. David's newest invention, the Bumper Rollers, is a great tool for removing dents from bumpers. You can use these two tools separately or together.
Always wear proper safety gear while working!

The Bumper Bag Plus from Polyvance is a versatile tool that will help you do many things in the body shop.
First of all, as the name implies, the Bumper Bag will help you to remove small dents from the face of plastic bumpers. Simply mark the location of the dents on the backside of the bumper with a paint pen, lay the bumper on top of the Bumper Bag, then work the dent out with a ball pein hammer. The Bumper Bag will conform to the bumper and absorb the energy, working the dent out without causing further damage. Sand the surface with 80 grit paper to reveal any remaining low spots. Continue to work the dent with the hammer and Bumper Bag. With some practice, you'll eliminate the need for filler on many small dents using the Bumper Bag Plus.
The Bumper Bag Plus is also useful for many other things. Because the bag is made from 70,000 pound tensile strength webbing, it's super tough and practically indestructible, yet it is soft enough to conform to the shape of whatever it's pressing up against.
Use it remove small dents from sheet metal, too. Use it to cushion your jack saddle to eliminate the risk of denting the sheet metal of the subframe. The Bumper Bag takes the abuse, leaving the vehicle's parts unscathed. The Bumper Bag is very useful for adjusting the fit of adjoining sheet metal panels too. For example, if the hood is a bit low, use the Bumper Bag under the hood to gently persuade the sheet metal to get into alignment. Likewise, it can be used under the side of the hood to adjust its arc to align it better with the fender. Use it under the striker to recurve both corners of the hood for a better fit. It can also be used to tweak the twist out of a door to get it into better alignment with the quarter panel.
