The 8000-series nitrogen plastic welders from Polyvance include a patented quick-release hose and handle. This design makes it quick and easy to replace a damaged hose or handle in the field. Care must be exercised when installing the hose and handle to prevent damage to the contacts inside of the connectors. This video will show you how to install and remove both your welder hose and handle.
*Note: DO NOT twist the handle during assembly! This will damage the pins in the socket. Sheared & twisted pins are NOT covered by warranty.*
Always wear proper safety gear while working!

Let’s take a close look at the connector at the handle. Note that there are three larger pins; two of these carry current to your heating element and one is for the ground wire. The four smaller pins are not currently used but will allow for future functionality. The round hole carries nitrogen gas through the welder.
The pins are quite small and fragile. They cannot resist much torque. The v-notch you see here is to align the connector before the pins make contact. It is made of plastic and therefore cannot resist much torque either.
It is critically important that, when attaching the hose to the handle or the welder, to line up the v-notch and gently pull the connector together by turning the metal collar. Note that we are not twisting the handle relative to the hose… we are just turning the metal collar to thread the connector together.
Many people make the mistake of twisting the handle itself...do not do this! Note that if the hose and handle twist relative to each other, the pins will break off or fold over. Here are a few examples of pins that have been damaged.
Again...line up the v-notch in the connector, engage it gently, then thread on the metal collar to draw the connector together. DO NOT twist the handle!
To remove the handle from the hose, again, don’t twist the handle...simply turn the metal collar counterclockwise to loosen the connector.
Likewise, when attaching the hose to the front of the welder, line up the v-notch in the connector, engage it gently, then thread on the metal collar on the hose to draw the connector together.
Follow these simple instructions to prevent damage to your handle’s connector and to take full advantage of the Polyvance welder’s easy-maintenance design.
