GMC Sierra Dually Bedside Panel Repair

Today we just finished a repair on a GMC Sierra dually bedside panel. The 2001-2006 bedside panel runs about $1,300 - $1,700. This panel is made out of thermoset polyurethane, and came in with several long tears on it. Polyurethane is a thermoset plastic, and is NOT meltable, but it can be repaired with the airless plastic welder and thermoplastic polyurethane welding rod. This will not provide a fusion weld; the urethane welding rod is used more like a hot melt glue.
To do this repair, we used an airless plastic welder, R01 polyurethane welding rod, 2000-T Flex Filler epoxy, and 3043 All Seasons Black Jack waterborne primer surfacer. Using this method, we were able to make a solid repair and prime the repair areas for paint. We have posted some photos of the repair below.
