6103-05 Quick-Release Hose Retrofit Kit

When we released the 8000-series nitrogen plastic welders last year, one of the big improvements was the addition of a field-replaceable handle and hose. Both components could be easily removed and replaced by the user if they were damaged, where previously the welder would have to often be returned to the factory for repair.

Now, with over a year of field experience with the new design behind us, we have discovered that many of our customers, in the process of trying to tighten the handle connector, twist the handle itself instead of the metal collar at the end as intended, accidentally shearing the conductor pins inside the connection.

We are happy to announce that all nitrogen welders shipping since early August have updated connectors with a much-improved metal-to-metal anti-rotation feature which should eliminate accidental damage caused by the user. The new style hose can be retrofitted to earlier 8000-series welders, but it does involve removing the existing connector from the face of the welder and drilling a larger hole in the sheet metal to accommodate the larger-diameter connector.
