This one was tough.
A local body shop called us. They had a 2005 Chevrolet SSR that had been in an accident. This bumper cover should have gone in the trash. It was really bad. There was a problem, though. The bumper cover is discontinued and is no longer available. Even when the bumper cover WAS available, it cost over $1,000! The body shop was unable to find a salvage or used bumper cover, either. Lucky for them, we were close by. This image shows the damage. The bumper was cracked and dented.
Big dent.
This is a picture of the dent from a different angle. Some of the plastic is even stretched which makes the repair tougher to do.
Big split.
This image shows the split in the bumper. It's not a clean break, either. This makes it more challenging.
Welding and sanding.
All of the tears and splits were repaired with a Nitrogen Plastic Welder. The dent was softened with a heat gun and pushed out with Bumper Dent Removal Rollers.
We have a video on how to remove bumper dents that you can watch by Clicking here.
Close up of the welded split.

Close up of dent removal.
This shows the dent after it was heated and worked out with bumper dent removal rollers.
Skim coat of filler.
We applied a skim coat of Putty Flex to fill in a few scratches and low spots.
Primer applied and ready to deliver.
A coat of All Seasons Black Jack waterborne primer surfacer prior to delivery to the body shop.
Painted.
Here is the bumper after the body shop painted it. It looks brand new.
