Acrylic/PVC (also known as Kydex) is not used very often in automotive applications. However, it is used often in aircraft interior applications. In aircraft interior applications, you will find Acrylic/PVC (Kydex) used for pull-down trays, seat backs, window shades, and other applications where a low-flammability, thermoformed plastic sheet is best. It is also used in applications where you need something that is waterproof, scratch resistant and doesn't stretch or shrink under normal conditions.
Some brand names for Acrylic/PVC are Kydex (from SEKSUI SPI) and Boltaron (from SIMONA).
This package contains 31.5 ft. (9.6 m) of black Acrylic/PVC (Kydex) plastic welding strips. Each rod measures 12.6 inches (319 mm) long, 3/8th inch (9.5 mm) wide, 1/16th inch (1.6 mm) thick, and there are 30 rods per pack.
